MAXIFLEX

Maxiflex gaskets combine the high pressure high integrity properties of metallica gaskets with the ability to create a tighter seal at lower bolt loads normally associated with soft gasket materials. Spiral wound gaskets have the ability to recover under the action of fluctuating loads caused by process fluid pressure and temperature changes, flange face temperature variations, flange rotation, bolt stress relaxation and creep. The gasket sealing element consists of a pre-formed metallic winding strip with layers of softer more compressible sealing material which during compression, is densified and flows to fill  imperfections in the flange surface when the gasket seated. The metal strip holds the filler giving the gasket mechanical resistance and resilience.

Type R

Maxiflex spiral wound sealing element, suitable for high pressure and temperature applications. Recommended for use on tongue and groove, male to female and flat face to recess flanges.

Type CR

Maxiflex spiral wound sealing element with a solid outer ring used as a centring device and a compression stop. Suitable for general, lower pressure, used mainly on raised face and flat face flanges.

Type RIR

Maxiflex spiral wound sealing element with a solid inner ring to reduce blow out, it also acts as compression stop and reduces the effect of flow on the sealing element.

Type CRIR

Maxiflex spiral wound sealing element with solid metal inner and outer rings. Suitable for high pressure and temperature applications. Prevents turbulence and erosion damage to the flange, also prevents damage to gasket bore and inner windings. The rings also act as a compression stop and contain the sealing element to produce a high integrity gasket.    Can be used on raised face or flat face flanges.

Type HTX

Used on heat exchanger applications where the sealing faces are narrow, using a Maxiflex spiral wound sealing element and combination of inner ring and outer windings. The inner ring can have pass bars or could carry a pass bar manufactured with a solid metal bar or a metal clad deign. Manufactured to the customer design.

Type RHD

Maxiflex spiral wound sealing elements, wound in high density. Wide choice of materials for filler and metal strips.  Used on high pressure pumps,  and valves (gas service).
