Metallic ring joint gaskets are heavy duty, high-pressure gaskets largely used in offshore petrochemical applications. They are precision-engineered components designed to be used in conjunction with precision-machined grooved flanges.
All our ring joints are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API 6A.
Type R Oval
The original style of metallic ring joint. Used on round bottomed groove flanges though can also be used on later, flat-bottomed groove flanges. Suitable for ANSI B16.5 flanges from Class 150 to 2500
Type R Octagonal
An improved design over the original Oval design. However these can be used only in flat-bottomed groove flanges. Suitable for ANSI B16.5 flanges from Class 150 to 2500.
Type RX
Pressure energised gasket for use on high pressure, API 6B flanges rated for Class 2000 to Class 5000.
Type BX
Pressure energised gaskets for use on API 6BX flanges from Class 2000 to Class 20000.
Klinger Ring Type Joints are also available with a PTFE insert on the inner diameter for increased corrosion protection for both the gasket and the flanges.
